One of the most beautiful sights of spring in Phoenix is the appearance of bright yellow flowers on the palo verde trees. The trunks, limbs, and branches of the tree are all green, the tiny leaves are green, and with the yellow flowers against the blue sky, it is a beauty to behold.
I was struck by this scene of colored lights through my blinds at night. I used a tripod and long exposure to capture the lights and colors while keeping the rest of the image dark and quiet.
I actually took this photo on a regular day, since we fly our flag every day of the year. Here’s to celebrating independence — and healthy interdependence — not just today but always, not just in the USA but everywhere.
